The ninth edition of the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) comprises a series of exhibitions and activities spread out over ten months.
IABR takes place from September 2020 to June 2021 through a programme of digital and real-world events, which will be announced throughout the year according to the ongoing development of the coronavirus pandemic.
The biennale's title Down to Earth highlights what IABR sees as today’s most pressing challenge: climate change. The first exhibition, which is titled Drought in the Delta and runs until 1 November, explores the way climate change is affecting the Netherlands use of the delta. The exhibition takes place in the Keilezaal, Rotterdam, the IABR’s new venue.
